Because of the efforts of Minnesotans defending their freedoms, it looks as though the misguided Teamsters' attack on independent contractors will go down to a Gubernatorial veto.
With enough House Republicans - and a lonely, brave Democrat - voting No to sustain a veto, this bill appears headed for the scrap heap where it belongs.
The efforts of thousands of Minnesotans working to defend their jobs and businesses will be enough to defeat the special interests...this time. I have no doubt that this and other anti-worker, anti-jobs legislation will be making their way through the DFL-controlled legislature.
As Mr. Jefferson wrote so eloquently, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Minnesotans who love freedom and prosperity should thank all the Minnesota House members who voted no, as well as Governor Pawlenty when he vetoes it. They should then start preparing for the next big fight, which will be Thursday when the Democrats bring a truly awful tax bill to the floor.
